Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology At Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology we have a vision to provide world class cancer care and by working together against cancer we aim to always exceed the expectations of our patients and their families. ‘Clatterbridge your cancer centre’ is the only charity that raises funds to directly benefit the hospital’s patients and families. Charitable funds play an important role in helping us to achieve our objectives because the additional income enables us to improve the care, treatment and facilities that we can offer to our patients. They also allow us to provide many of the “extras” over and above what the NHS would be expected to supply. By working together against cancer, we aim to always exceed the expectations of our patients and their families. To get involved with ‘Clatterbridge your cancer centre’ please call the Fundraising Team on 0151 482 7948,
The Backup Trust Today three people in the UK will have an accident leading to spinal cord injury. It is unsurprising that the suicide rate for people with SCI is five times higher than the national average, 20 per cent of people leave NHS spinal centres clinically depressed and 32 per cent have clinical anxiety. Spinal cord injury does not discriminate. Breaking your back or neck is frighteningly easy to do and can happen to anyone through a fall, road traffic accident, illness or sporting injury. Paralysis is permanent. There is no cure. The Back-Up Trust is here to support people in their darkest hours and transforms lives after spinal cord injury. We provide wheelchair skills training, mentoring and rehabilitative activity courses which grow confidence and independence by challenging people and encouraging them to venture outside their comfort zone. Our aim is to show people that they can still realise their potential after a spinal cord injury.
